Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SnapLog (“SnapLog,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and application (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Photos and job content. The photos you capture or upload, along with captions, notes, tags, annotations, punch-list items, and job details you enter.
- Location data. When you capture or upload a photo, we record the GPS coordinates and approximate address associated with it, and we may use your device location to suggest the nearest job. Location is used to document where a photo was taken.
- Integrity metadata. At capture we compute a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of the image and a trusted timestamp to support chain-of-custody verification.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles card data and provides us limited details such as subscription status and the last four digits.
- Usage and device information. Basic technical data such as device type, browser, and log information needed to operate and secure the Service.
How we use information
- To provide the Service — storing, organizing, sealing, and displaying your photos and jobs.
- To enable sharing and collaboration with people you invite to a job.
- To process subscriptions and manage your account.
- To send transactional messages, such as invitations and password-reset emails.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- People you invite.Team members and clients you add to a job can view (and, depending on their role, contribute to) that job’s photos and details.
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors to operate the Service, including Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and our hosting and content-delivery providers (Railway and Cloudflare). They process data only to provide services to us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your account, your jobs, and the photos you have taken, and we cancel any active subscription. Some information may persist in backups or where retention is required by law for a limited period.
Security
We protect data in transit with encryption (HTTPS), store passwords using a strong one-way hash (scrypt), and record integrity seals for captured photos. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can view and update your account details and job content within the app.
- Deletion. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the account menu (“Delete account”). This removes your account and associated data as described above.
- Location. You can disable location access in your device or browser settings, though some features (such as automatic geotagging) will not work.
Children
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated to you.
